Barrington Tops

We went up here last weekend and saw the snow with the Maitland 4x4Club. It was so cold. We stopped at Gundy fir a coffee and toilet stop. What a cute little town.

Old church

This old church had been renovated and hired out by the council these days. Such a pity not a lot of people go to church these days. This one is found at Paxton.

Elllalong Church

This old church is no longer in use. The old wooden churches of this era are unique and so interesting.

Churches

This church is no longer in use as a church. It is the typical shape and size of many old ones in the Hunter. This one is at Paxton.

Millfield Wetlands

Ater the drought the grass seeds germinated in the wetland bed and when we had weeks of rain the grasses continued to grow and are seen above the water level. The swans and other birds have returned.

Chichester Dam

This area is not far from Dungog. It is the water catchment area for Newcastle and there are lots of lovely scenery and walks to do. Plus there are camp sites close by.

Millfield Wetlands

The wetlands have dried up due to the drought. The bird life has almost disappeared.

After a few weeks of heavy rain the wetlands have got water and a lot of the bird life has returned.

Millfield Mist

Every morning when I wake up I look out of my window to see what nature has to offer . I never tire of the view even when the wetlands are green with grass instead of water.

Hunter Wetlands

Hunter Wetlands is a great place to take visitors and school excursions. I had  a lovely time in the sun. Luckily the red belly black snake appeared right where I was standing after I left.

Merewether Surfhouse

We went to the restaurant here today which is situated on the top floor . Not only was the food good but the service was excellent. I had veal cutlets and they were so tender. The view of the beaches was spectacular . So many memories of when I was growing up in the area.

New Years Eve

We sat on the foreshore at Stockton Beach and watched the fireworks on New Years Eve being let off at Nobby's Beach.

Stockton Beach

A holiday at Stockton Beach in summer is fantastic. Close to the beach and swimming pool and a short ride across the water to Newcadtle in a ferry.
